GREAT THINGS FOR YOU TO SEE AND DO HERE ON

                                        AUSTRALIA'S   GOLD COAST

Queensland's fabulous Gold Coast enjoys 287 days of sunshine annually with average temperatures ranging between 19 and 29 degrees Celsius (66 to 83F) in summer and between 9 to21 degrees Celsius (48 to 69 F) in winter.

We have some of the best beaches in the world spanning 57 kilometres with average water temperatures of 22 degrees and hundreds of places of interest and entertainment to enjoy.

Except for extremes in winter you can get around in shorts for most of the year, so there is no need to pack heavy winter wear. Apart from your toothbrush, swimmers and some casual wear all you really need is a will to enjoy yourself plus some suntan lotion and a wide brimmed hat.

Travel agents and some people refer to the area as Surfers Paradise, and that may be so, but Surfers is only a very small part of the Gold Coast's total area of 1402 square kilometres; "Surfers" itself being particularly popular with our younger folk.

Before you make the decision to visit us we suggest you contact the Gold Coast Tourism Bureau by mail at PO Box 7091, GC Mail Centre Queensland 9726 Australia or by Email GCTB@onthenet.com.au or visit their website. You will find them most helpful.

When you arrive we suggest that you first get in touch with the Bureau on (07) 5592 2699. They will be able to help make your stay as pleasurable as possible. A tourist bus day trip will give you a much better picture of what we have to offer.
However; we wish to stress some precautions because we want you to enjoy yourself and stay safe.

Please   * SWIM BETWEEN THE FLAGS  ON THE BEACHES AND TALK TO THE LIFESAVERS IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF BEACH CONDITIONS,* AND REMEMBER THAT THERE ARE TWO SIDES TO THE SUNSHINE ASK THEM ABOUT SLIP SLOP SLAP

Queensland is now the fastest growing state in Australia with tremendous opportunities for many professional groups and particularly for doctors, nurses and allied health professionals who can call up the Queensland Government Department of Health website for information on health positions available or coming up, pay and conditions, housing, accomodation, lifestyle or whatever else you would like to know.  Please click or call up   www.health.qld.gov.au/workforus   for more information or to express your interest.
