KEEPING YOUR "NEST EGG" TOGETHER

Keeping the "nest egg" together has now become a nightmare for so many of our Gold Coast retirees

In light of the tremendous losses that some seniors have experienced it is clear that there is now an urgent need for more training opportunities and more personal interest by seniors in money management generally and particularly in the organisation and management of their own affairs

This was confirmed in a recent study by the United Nations World Health Organisation (WHO) of 15,000 people on the GOLD COAST.(briefly reported ABC on line 3/7/03 ).   Conclusions being that debt and financial mismanagement is now a serious problem for the community, in some cases leading to attempts at suicide.

"WHO" wants to see more education to help people manage their finances and that is precisely what  The Gold Coast Association of Independent Retirees (AIR GC) and its Investment Group have been doing for many years.

Retirees Australia has already been in contact with the United Nations World Health Organisation (WHO) requesting more information on their Gold Coast study (mentioned above) also indicating willingness to cooperate in coordinating local endeavours and in the task of keeping the Government and the media informed.
